A house with a garden in the heart of Milan, a new Italian beginning for a young cosmopolitan family. The customers’ indications are few, but very clear: a livable, functional and contemporary house, with a neutral palette and color accents that liven up the rooms, maintaining a strong relationship with the garden and with particular attention to the arrangement of the works of art. ‘art. From this moment on we were given complete trust and great creative freedom, allowing us to create a project that gave us great satisfaction. The apartment is spread over two floors, both overlooking the private garden; the living area and the main bedrooms are located on the first floor, while the guest area, the gym and the cinema room/games area are located on the ground floor. On both floors we designed almost all of the furnishings and doors, which we then had made by our trusted craftsmen, in order to have maximum control over materials and finishes. The general palette is developed on the warm tones of oak and Navona travertine, of which an entire block was selected and purchased, in order to maintain the same nuances on the various furnishings in the different rooms of the house. The environments in which we worked most on color are the two very lively powder rooms, the one in shades of blue and orange on the first floor and in shades of ocher and light blue on the ground floor, treating them like small, very colorful boxes with a surprise effect. Overall it was a much loved project, both by us and by the clients, which gave us the opportunity to work in the constant search for balance between dry and rigorous geometries and sudden accents of colors and textures, to give life to a home livable and welcoming, but original and unconventional like the family that lives there.
