Casa Agrate is a family home, not renovated or modified for decades, which the clients, a young couple with their two children, have decided to transform and make more
modern and flexible. The clients asked us for a comfortable home, with modern finishes and materials and simple geometries; to these general guidelines we have tried to add more pop and daring accents in the decor choices, above all with the use of custom-made wallpaper and furnishings, and paying particular attention o the choice of lamps and furnishing accessories. The house opens onto a wall completely covered in Fornasetti’s “Key secret” wallpaper in shades of blue, which hides the 2 pocket doors of the guest bathroom and utility room, and which continues into the living area; thus a large box is created, in which the corner has been completed with custom-made furniture in painted metal and covered panels, designed by us and Ccustom made. The small guest bath deserves a separate mention: completely hidden by the folding door flush with the wall, it is a small box entirely in shades of blue that opens onto the entrance and is completed by the large custom-made mirror that expands the space. To the right of the entrance is the living area, which houses the seating area and the dining area, aligned with the window; the long wall opposite the entrance has been fully equipped to our design and divided into 3 areas: a TV area in the seating area, the fireplace in the center and a reading area on the left, next to the fireplace corner and the window overlooking the garden. In the master bedroom we worked on a palette of pinks and grays, juxtaposing grayscale Cole & Son ‘Palm Jungle’ wallpaper with a blush ceiling, and leaving all furnishings and accents in white tones.
