THE PURE_SALAD SHOP

THE PURE_SALAD SHOP

The design of this salad shop in Corso Magenta, in Milan, was born in close collaboration with Asterisco Creative Agency, a creative agency in Turin, which was entrusted with the study of graphics, strategy and communication.
The concept proposed and accepted with enthusiasm both by the design team and by the customer starts from the idea that the salad is an angelic meal, pure, almost a remedy, which allows not to renounce to taste, getting rid of guilt.
The vehicle of this message is a cosmopolitan “Santina” that becomes the protagonist of space; a figure inspired by classical sacred iconography, but at the same time enriched with colors, floral details and poses typical of the Viennese secessionist style, reinterpreted in a contemporary key. Strong is the reference to the “Madonnina”, one of the most identifying symbols of the city of Milan.
The “Santina” emerges on the backwall of the room from the tropical foliage that characterizes the wallpaper specially customized for The Pure by Darlingmind Studio in collaboration with Asterisco, the pattern continues on the wall behind the seats, creating an elegant contrast with the light structure laced in iron. The architectural project was therefore conceived as a real scenography where to insert the “Santina”; the choice of the arch as a stylized and symbolic element is strongly inspired by the sacred little chapels that are the habitat of the Madonnas, and by the polyptychs, in which it is precisely the arch that gives an architectural structure to the narration. The arch characterizes the structure in white painted iron of the seating system, “framing” the individual tables, integrated in the structure and together with them the customers.
The space has been divided into a selling and dining area and a laboratory. The two areas are divided by the light iron structure and perforated sheet painted white of the counter.
The design was thought to be re-proposed in other sales points and to be perfectly adapted to a communication conveyed by an icon other than the Milanese “Santina” in jeans, designed each time for the specific location.
Regarding lighting, we chose to use two neon lights, the first, above the counter, shows the motto “It’s all a dream”, the second, like a brushstroke of light, highlights the aureole of “Santina”, that becomes three-dimensional.
In general it was chosen to use “pure” light signs, selecting luminous globes and LED strips, in which the metal support practically disappears.

WATERBEAT SOCIETY LUNCH BOX

WATERBEAT SOCIETY LUNCH BOX

MICHAEL KORS OLD BOND STR LONDON

MICHAEL KORS OLD BOND STR LONDON

The new Bonn Street Michael Kors store is located in a Victorian building in central London’s Old Bond Street area. On the ground and second floor is the Women’s Collection, on the second floor is the Men’s Collection, while on the fourth floor is designed a V.I.P. area. The concept of the project is a very interesting mix, on the one hand it wants to preserve the typical architectural elements of the Victorian building, starting with its fireplaces, while on the other hand the intervention Sta between contemporary taste and an industrial-chic taste. An alternation of wood and concrete on the floor, ceilings and walls creates an interesting rhythm in the building’s ascent. Plaster cornices typical of the Victorian style have been restored and revived in a more contemporary way in the use of marble around the fireplaces. It was chosen to intervene with vintage furnishings That characterize the environment with a domestic flavor. The idea behind the project is to create a store where customers can feel at home.

WATERBEAT SOCIETY

WATERBEAT SOCIETY

Waterbeat Society is the first and only hydrospinning center in Italy. It is located in the heart of Milan, just around the corner from the Duomo. The project is organized on two levels, plus a mezzanine: The ground floor houses the reception, a small waiting area and the three massage cabins, two inside the velvet cocoons on the mezzanine floor and one in the area behind the cashier. The wall behind the reception desk is covered in wallpaper that incorporates the logo and the foliage symbol of Waterbeat Society. Above all, suspended and unexpected you will find the motto of Waterbeat Society: BE A HYDROLOVER, a pink neon sign that stands out in the air, with a touch of innocent boldness typical of this project. An iconic glass elevator leads downstairs. The eye is immediately captured by the natural cement stucco wall on which stands the pink neon that shows the logo. From the waiting room it is possible to see the swimming pool through a large window.Through a long, white and bright corridor, a sort of chromatic pause, you can access the male and female changing rooms and the pool. The access to the pool is through a short staircase, here the back wall is covered in water-repellent wallpaper, on which there are logo and foliage. The niches, used for storing exercise tools and showers, are covered with the same tiles present in the reception. Changing rooms are characterized by very fresh accents. Here there is a game of two colors, water blue for women and blue for men, while the showers are covered in white tiles, with black grout in this case. Strong and characterizing elements, unexpected materials and bright colors are the ingredients that characterize Waterbeat Society, an innovative place, which is the result of the contamination of different cultures, inspirations and passions.

MAMA’S CAFE

MAMA’S CAFE

The Relooking of this bar in San Cristoforo, born from the request of the two young owners to renovate and modernize the existing bar they acquired, creating a cool, bright space, with the atmosphere of home, in line with the name chosen for the activity – Mama’s cafe. The project worked on the elements constituting the space, such as the double height, the stairs and the important balustrade, revolutionizing their language. The staircase, after being white-painted, is so light that it seems to merge with the wall behind it, the railing, enriched with pots full of green appears as a bright balcony from which to look out on the functional but fun space below. The choice of light colors as white, gray and natural wood communicates successfully with the contrasting black chalkboard blackwall, support for the custom graphics, realized by Asterisk Design, that successfully embody the philosophy, the mood and the offer of this Mama’s café. Also note the reuse of barrels, transformed from rustic elements into tables with minimalist design, which, varying slightly the style of the furniture, are perfectly integrated in the concept of space. The selection of lamps with a stylized domestic line, characterized by a slender white structure that stands on the blackboard like a chalk tract, strengthens the genuine atmosphere of familiarity, the owners wanted the customer to feel welcomed by.
